Patrick Glennan completed formal yoga training under Paul Wooden in 2004. Since then he has continued to study with renowned teachers in Australia, Italy, India, Thailand, Bali and the United States. He has taught consistently in a number of yoga studios in inner-city Melbourne as well as various corporate environments, and for the last five years has been teaching yoga and meditation in prison. His classes reflect a broad range of influences, at times incorporating flowing sequences, at other times more meditative practices, breathing techniques and mantra. But whether the focus is on asana or more subtle practices, Patrick believes that it is both useful and important to question what we are doing, and to be discerning about the practices we adopt. He encourages students to work in a way that is both suitable and appropriate to their personal condition and circumstances, with the overall and deeper aim always being that of opening to a clearer understanding of our own deeper nature.
As well as being a long-time student of Yoga, Qi Gong and Tai Chi, Patrick is also one of a handful of people in Australia trained in Mondo Zen Koan Dialogue practice (developed by Rinzai master Jun Po Dennis Kelly, Roshi), a unique and powerful tool for awakening to our deeper nature.
