Four Day Easter Retreat 2020

E-Vam Institute’s annual retreat is suitable for all levels of students and is a wonderful opportunity to deepen one’s practice in the tranquil setting at Maitripa Centre, Healesville. The program will include indo-tibetan yoga and pranayama sessions, shamatha and walking meditation and traditional ritual puja (chanting & singing) practices of Green Tara and Chenrezig.

Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche IX (1955 – 2012)
Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche IX was born in Eastern Tibet and enthroned as the Supreme Abbott of Thrangu Monastery by His Holiness Gyalwang Karmapa. Rinpoche underwent rigorous scholastic and meditative training under various Tibetan Buddhist masters in India and Bhutan before coming to Australia in 1980. Rinpoche became well known for his erudition, fluency in English and background in western psychology, comparative religion and philosophy. He inaugurated the annual Buddhist Summer School, now in its 37th year. He is the author of a number of books including ‘The Essence of Buddhism’ now in its third printing. Rinpoche’s most recent books include ‘Karma: What It Is, What It Isn’t, Why It Matters’ and ‘Moonbeams of Mahamudra: The Classic Meditation Manual’ and ‘Desire: Why it matters’.
Shared, twin single or single rooms are available please mention during the booking process. All bedding and catering is included (Self-catering is not permitted).
Tickets include accommodation, catering and full access to the program and activities.

This retreat requires a minimum of two days attendance. Room check in is the night prior (e.g. tickets booked for Friday & Saturday have a Thursday evening check-in (between 5:30pm – 6:30pm) and Saturday check-out (noon – 1pm)).
After check-out you are welcome to stay on for the full day’s activities.
E-Vam staff and volunteers will co-ordinate all aspects of the retreat. There will be a Karma Yoga roster for retreatants to participate in during retreat.
